DIY Purifying Face Mask

20/11/2019

My first post (in English) is going to be about my all-time favourite face mask.

I have mixed type of skin, despite my 30 years of age, I still have acne. My forehead and nose can get extremely dry (I live in Paris and I guess polution contributes to the dryness of my skin). I also have extremely sensitive skin so, I get spots with almost any type of oily component in creams or make-up.

I have always used face masks. I have tried everything there is to try: corean masks, nose white strips, peeling type of masks, tea tree oil ones… but, my favourite had always been Glamglow.

I started the change into natural products by using homemade deodorant, toothpaste and shampoos. I had bought some ingredients for the toothpaste that I had never used before, one of them was charcoal. To be honest, I didn’t really like the toothpaste, so I found myself stuck with these ingredients I had never used before: charcoal and white clay. One day, I remembered my dearest glamglow, checked the ingredients online and I thought I could give it a try with these (until that moment, useless) ingredients.

So, here we go:

  • 1 tsp of activated charcoal

  • 1 tsp of kaolin white clay

  • 1 tsp of marshmallow root powder (optional)

All we do is mix it all with water and that’s it!

How do I use it? I previously wash my face, then I exfoliate it (try honey and sugar or grinded coffee, its an amazing exfoliator!) and then i put the mask on my face. I let it dry and then wash it off my face.

How do I feel after using it? My pores are unclogged and the skin is extremely soft thanks to the marshmallow root powder (it is one of my all time favourite natural ingredient, I use it on facial and hair cosmetics!)

What I most like about these ingredients is that they can be used for several recipes. You will get to discover them in further posts.

Have you already tried similar recipes? Let me know on my facebook page or on my Instagram! I am now going to start posting more in English so you English-speaking friends can understand all my post. You can also contact me easily through there!

All the best!
